This Privacy Policy explains how Teh Chess Academy ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Chess Hunt app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in (for example with Google Sign-In), we receive your email address and a unique account identifier provided by the sign-in provider.
• Registration details (optional). If you choose to register as a student, we collect the name, school, and class/grade you enter so a teacher can approve your access. Providing this is voluntary.
• Gameplay data. We store your progress, puzzle scores, rating, and leaderboard standing so the Service works across your devices.
• Purchase status. When you buy the one-time unlock, we record only that your account is unlocked. We do not receive or store your card or payment details.

How we use your information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including saving progress and scores.
• To display leaderboards and your account profile.
• To verify purchases and grant access to unlocked content.
• To respond to support requests and approve student registrations.

Third-party services

We use trusted third parties that process limited data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, and hosting) — see Google's privacy policy.
• Stripe — processes payments made through our website. Card details are handled by Stripe, not by us.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — process in-app purchases made on mobile devices. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google, not by us.

Children's privacy

Chess Hunt is an educational game that may be used by children, often through a school or academy. We only collect the limited information described above and never request more than is needed to run the Service. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information you would like removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by emailing us at the address below. We will delete your account data on request, subject to any records we must retain for legal or tax purposes.

Data security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
